Comment

Seeing as my previous response to anon 11.38 and anon 11.43 was deleted I will post again but without the Judges being named.

To anon 11.43, my post has nothing at all to do with gender and no where do I even make it about an issue of gender. For you to jump all over my snowflake comment and assume it is because of gender, you cannot be more wrong. Gender is irrelevant to this whole issue. One of the rude and aggressive Judges I refer to is female and was at the bar. My snowflake comment was to do with "And their criticisms in that tone sting and undermine professional confidence. The words stay with me long after the case is done."

I agree we should all expect to be treated with respect and treated professionally but it does not happen. It is a fact of life. Anyone can be rude and aggressive, whether it is a Judge or someone walking down the street or clients, it happens so move on.

I cannot see why you are turning this into a gender issue? If a male had made the comments I would say exactly the same thing. Would you still be up in arms about it?

If the barrister was so affected by the conduct did she:
1. raise it with the judge at the time?
2.raise it with the judicial conduct office?

If not why not.
