Many years ago when I was an articled clerk (tells you how long ago) our local District Registrar was a byword for being rude, aggressive and unhelpful. It was rumoured that he had a drink problem which is why he had been sent to work in a group of courts far way from his native heath. The odd thing was that away from the bench he couldn't have been more friendly....
