This is a counter intuitive solution.

The NHS is underfunded. So instead of putting proper funding into the system to ensure negligence doesn't occur in the first place, the government are just going to cover any costs attributable to a doctor's negligence due to their insurance being too high?

Has anyone told the government that professional indemnity insurance premiums for lawyers are pretty high too?
