Yet many companies are wiped out and individuals bankrupted in civil claims because it came down to 50.1% against 49.9%. And doctors are erased from the register on the same grounds. Yet solicitors have a system that makes it easier for solicitors than it does for the general public. That's not good optics.

Although in practice it's never that tight, is it? It's more like 70-30. It's like fraud in a civil claim. Although it's balance of probabilities, it is such an extraordinary claim it demands extraordinary proof.
