This isn't about tax and pensions, it's about services, competition and efficiency. Is there a demand for over-priced, inefficient, outdated, ramshackle services or ones that are affordable, efficient and give you what you need ? If the latter, then businesses have to be able to provide those services without going broke. And if the unemployment queue isn't to begin growing again, then contractors should be allowed to compete for the work on offer at market rates and in answer to market demand. Isn't that what we all do - whether we're employed, self-employed, contracting, working, whatever ? Uber (or its iterations) won't be going away, no matter how much the Luddites pray that it will.
