This seems a very odd case. Suspension with client account deficiencies seems merciful. So there must be more at stake here.

Anon 14.46. Here is the first straw in the wind.

Articled at 16, admitted 1966 and practiced until 1986 - basically civil litigation and crime. Bench DJ and recorder 86/12.

I had the best years in practice. The rot started with the loss of the conveyancing monopoly - fixed fees, now regarded as a good thing in litigation, we're not against the public interest unless pile it high and sell it cheap was your credo. It was added to with advertising which reduced the profession to no better than - take your pick.

The result over time has been to unpick my profession and add it to other business models and entities.

I don't given my age and generation regret my career choice. Why would I?

But if I were 15 or 20 years younger I'm sure that I would. And that, for different reasons, goes for the judicial bit too.
