Report comment

I don’t mean to hog the page, but considering all of the learned comments on the Equality Act etc, I wonder if a more appropriate mode of thinking would be to apply the principles of mens rea and the reasonable person test, to issues of sexual harassment. If calling someone “darling” or complimenting them on their shoes, was not meant to cause offense, then it cannot be offensive, if, a reasonable person, with ordinary prudence would not find the comment offensive. The fact someone might find such a comment offensive speaks more to the “victims” hypersensitivity than to the intent of the assailant. I think maybe this whole thing is a storm in a teacup, where the media are bored with reporting the news so they now make it up instead.
