Anonymous is very eloquent - when does he/she get time to do some work?! Yes, I know - not always the same person.
We all know a ghost when he/she fails to materialise - a person who has retired and who no one has seen for months; a person who has left the profession altogether and his previous employers are just keeping quiet about his absence and covering the slots. But the LAA must have some criteria which they can check by ticking boxes. Heaven forfend that someone there would actually have to think!
I wouldn't have been able to be on a rota if I still had my daughter, who is autistic, with me. When she was growing up, I couldn't work at night when she was home, couldn't volunteer for Saturday courts. I had wonderful colleagues and survived. Now it would be impossible.
