On so many levels this is good news.

This is more than just about saving a fragile sector. The Rule of Law requires, that all citizens, especially the vulnerable, must have unfettered access to our legal system.

Successive governments have for years barely paid lip service to the idea of maintaining a viable legal system.

For once the Law Society is showing real leadership, and is to be congratulated.

We require more please of this unexpected robustness, so that solicitors can feel proud once more to belong to the legal profession.
