I whole-heartedly concur that more lawyers rather than fewer are required in politics. Law is the backbone of any free democracy and the tendency to ignore it or bend it or simply disrespect it cannot be good for anyone in the end (except for those on top of the pile who can afford to live above the law).

Also as for being risk averse - this should not be confused with being "risk-aware" (something which this Government cannot be accused of I suppose) which is essential for the running of a country.
