Actually this was not the first bomb to strike UK professional premises. On 8th September 1915 a Zeppelin dropped incendiary bombs on Gray's Inn and on 13th October another Zeppelin bombed both Gray's Inn and Lincoln's Inn, damaging, amongst other places within Lincoln's Inn, the Chapel. There is still scarring on the outer wall of the chapel and in the undercroft; there is also a plaque on the wall of the chapel and a marker in the roadway showing where that bomb detonated.
