You are quite right 17.5 (ish) million people voted to leave the EU and they left it up to the politicians to 'seal the deal'. All the Brexit pundits in the campaign repeatedly told us that those who wanted Brexit were clever people who knew the consequences and that they should not be treated as stupid. I do assure you I never thought they were stupid, just ill informed.

If it is true that the British people knew what they were doing when they voted to leave the EU then they are prepared to accept a compromise on the terms 'we' deal with the EU after 'we' have left. 'We' all after all want the best deal 'we' can get, even though it will not be as good as the one 'we' are dumping.

What will certainly lead to economic disaster is leaving like a petulant schoolboy who didn't get to bat first, the so-called hard Brexit. The WTO rules are nowhere near as easy as some would have 'us' believe. They are most certainly not just about tarrifs, that's the easy bit. As a third country trading into the EU 'we' will still have to accept their terms so 'we' had better make sure all 'our' cucumbers are straight!

We will be leaving on some of our terms and a lot of theirs, that's how trade works. The strongest economies hold sway over the weaker ones. Anyone who thinks that Britain can dictate to the EU post Brexit is delusional.

Coming back to 'we'. Some will do very well out of Brexit, there will be great opportunities for speculators and hedge fund managers and those with a nose for exploiting volatile trade markets. That particular 'we' will be on a gravy train with biscuit wheels.

There is another 'we' with a great deal to gain, the momentum driven Labour Party with its new found zealotry for hard socialism. It is quite possible that Mr Corbyn will be the biggest beneficiary of Brexit yet. Without the ECJ to stop them re-nationalisation is a given and 'we' need not worry about EU employment rights, the unions will be in charge of those. (we can call them TU Employment Rights)

I wonder how many of your 17.5 million 'countrymen' want either of those options, well why speculate after all 'we' will soon see!
