He deserves all he gets, sure.

But one day it could be you or I hauled up there for failing properly to trace to whom that £3.57 sat on an old probate belongs to, or having an invalid transgender / non-binary diversity policy, etc.

I mean I'm sorry, but really? So what if it was adjourned twice? Perhaps counsel booked for the hearing has a lost brief fee. Maybe the solicitor had to diarise the next hearing date and write a couple of letters to the SRA. Whatever. How can that amount to £86,400?

They should pay these things at legal aid rates. GIven that the SDT rubber stamps everything that the SRA wants anyway, I can't see that there is a need for such high rates of legal costs.
