Report comment

While we only have the short LSG report for information, I agree with anon at 14.12: it seems plain that he was deceiving clients, whatever the shortcomings of the Home Office policy. Striking off is surely the appropriate - and required - sanction.

As for Michael Martin’s comment, I endorse it. Comment from non-lawyers should be welcome. Comment from the many anons who seem to be lawyers are not always well thought out. With popular articles there sometimes appears to be an element of naivity, even stupidity, and, much as one may rationally deplore the government’s approach to the administration of justice, it is unhelpful and depressing that too many comments on these matters do little more than hark for the good old days when a decent living could be made from mostly routine legal work. Such comments do little to advance the argument for a decent, reliable and affordable system of justice.
