I am not a conveyancer (and so any conveyancers feel free to correct me) but surely there are some issues here:-

1. The public don't know, or don't care about, the Land Registry;
2. I imagine that the vast majority of people are led to their estate agents' conveyancers of choice (i.e. the ones they have a commercial agreement with); and
3. Surely the Land Registry's definition of a successful conveyancer is very different to Johnny Public's, who simply wants a quick, cheap and hassle free service - they won't care if the conveyancer has to tidy up a few loose ends with the title once they have the keys...
