Mr Carlisle - I am fully aware that it will be difficult and embarrassing to relate the facts of that case and the decision Master James handed down.

You appeared in open court for a lay person and for reward - you charged your client £177.00 per hour for a total costs bill for a half an hours hearing in the total sum of £1,401.04p.

The sum in dispute (if any) was a fraction of that sum charged.

After the hearing and when your client was asked - that client related as having no knowledge of the action raised in the SCCO or the liability or exposure to pay costs in the litigation.

That client related further of a direct unsolicited telephone call received in order to canvass instructions.

These matters are of the utmost gravity and are so serious they merit both an investigation and the intervention of the court .

This is not a witch hunt - there are longstanding and genuine areas of concern for the profession across the board.
