This is just another example of the cesspit of corruption that RTA claims have become over the last 15 - 20 years.

The insurance companies are industrialised hypocrites. They pretend for public consumption that they are doing battle with the evil claimants to keep insurance premiums down, but this is the exact opposite of what they really want.

They don't make any money on actual underwriting - the profits come from investing the premiums, and their whole business model is based on maximising that premium income.

To that end, just as they used to make money by selling claims to the parasitical CMC's they many years ago realised it was in their interests for hire charges to be as high as possible. They therefore conspired with the CHO's to allow them to charge extortionate hire rates by way of the Credit Hire Protocol.

High hire charges = high settlements = high premiums = happy insurers.

It's so funny watching them like a maggot on a hook trying to reconcile what they say in public with how they operate in private. - funny, that is, until my annual renewal comes round.

"My enemy's enemy is my friend" - and both insurers and CHO's have a common enemy - the Great British Public.
