Can we all please understand one thing. These proposals have nothing to do with fraud. Fraud exists in all insurance and you don’t hear the government banging on about cutting fraud in household insurance claims to “cut premiums for honest home owners “. It is a smoke screen perpetrated by the government and the insurers to lend weight to their principle aim which is to reduce the cost of claims to the insurance industry by making it more difficult for honest claimants to get any or all of their compensation. Fraud is wrong and illegall and should be dealt with anti fraud measures not by chucking the baby out with the bath water. By discussing it here we are all simply falling into the trap set by the insurers PR department. Think about it. Would anyone serious about tackling fraud suggest CMCs as the answer? Really ?
