Dear Ms Frazer

1. The proper administration of justice is a "necessary financial burden". Governments are a great financial burden. However we need them. Mostly.

2. To suggest that work can be done elsewhere is disingenuous at best and a damn right lie at worst. It can't. The remaining criminal courts are swamped and leave people in police stations and prison cells awaiting trial at whatever venue throws up a five minute slot soonest. Go to a local court and try to see how soon a day's mags trial can be had. I had a half day Section 9 trial offered a date in July and that was not because of witness availability. They simply could not book the broom cupboard 'till then. Mind you they have closed Dartford MC and we did say this would happen.

3. Consultation. Why is this word ever used? It is not a consultation but they cannot make the decision without having had a "consultation". But surely consultation means hearing from interested parties and making a rationale as opposed to an irrational decision. Yes there may be a JR but these never win. HMCTS just let the buidings decay so that we get to "its a health and safety issue" and no-one can use what was once a very useable building.

4. But its okay because flexible (to whom I ask) courts will be the solution. Yeah okay, sure they will, keep kidding yourselves.

Justice demands a physical presence not a laptop and a website.
