I think we should be reading between the lines here, coupled with the announcements about individuals being able to pursue PI claims, or SMEs challenge large corporations, without the need for a solicitor. The presumption presumably in the reference to "people" is that HMCTS is expecting to see the majority of these online claims to be raised by parties acting in person.

Best of luck then to those in person initially navigating for example the 27 page MCOL User Guide for Claimants, and its many hyperlinks to relevant parts of the CPR, et cetera, let alone understand the concept of evidence.

Funding the Courts and this country's legal services on the cheap simply doesn't work; it's as fundamental as that, and the fact that we now have highly qualified lawyers making these decisions, albeit for political reasons, is baffling.
