I started conveyancing in 1970 and had always done my own until last year when my late wife (bless her) decided that I had too much on.

Before working in the business, I had been a research assistant on a Which? report on the subject. This taught me that client's satisfaction depended on good communication and I applied my knowledge when picking a firm. I could not have got it more wrong

It is not clear to me whether the SRA research only asked how clients picked a conveyancer or also enquired as to the level satisfaction with recommendations from different sources. The Which? research did. It showed that those frm friends far outstripped
