Eduardo,

This piece marks a new low point in the history of the Law Society Gazette as far as I am concerned.

As many others have pointed out, there have been absolutely no allegations of any wrongdoing in relation to any of the solicitors that attended. The fact that other solicitors were there but this piece only refers to one of them is disgusting. Why name just one when there were others there? Indeed, another one of them appears to have been on the organising committee. If you didn't know about any others when the piece was written then you should have waited until you had done your research or not named names.

So far as I can make out from reading all the press reports, it would appear most of the bad behaviour was carried out in the after party where I would assume there is a much smaller number of people in attendance. That may explain why many people did see nothing.

I find it difficult to believe that a night with 350 high profile men, irrespective of the setting, would result in a scene where the women were being groped and molested en masse at every table in a scene of disgusting mysogyny. I just don't buy that.

Yes, I am sure there were pockets of bad behaviour, yes the event is probably not very PC in today's world and probably had run it's course, however, your thinking in commissioning this piece is very misguided. High standards certainly didn't apply to this commentary.
