I was listening to Any Answers on Radio 4 last weekend. During the discussion on the Presidents Club news, a man suggested that all strip clubs be closed down, as they exploited women. A woman phoned in to say that she was a stripper and enjoyed her job and was doing very well. She owned her home mortgage-free and owned another property (which she rented out) and was raising her two daughters, and the strip club she worked for was well managed and protected its staff.

What struck me was that the women explained that she had trained at a lawyer but given the career up as she felt exploited. With her stripper job she worked her agreed hours, and got paid her agreed salary, whilst she felt law firms exploited her by expecting her to work longer than the agreed hours.

Perhaps I should have spent longer considering other careers before becoming a lawyer as I now feel exploited.
