It is about time Insurance companies were banned from contacting instructed clients direct full stop - never mind just whether we get paid or I have had an insurance company contact a client of mine from information gleamed in the portal asking him if he ever even instructed me and if so how and on what basis - just checking you know as there is so much fraud going on - meantime opening a channel of communication open that can no doubt be used to obtain privileged information from him or even settle the claim and inferring that solicitors in general including possible the one he maybe using are a dodgy lot. If they want to be treated like professionals they should start behaving like them! There are plenty of ways to check out the bona fides of a solicitor's firm - the conveyancers manage to do it..
