I'm the anon at 16.53 on 30 January 2018.
I can't understand the dig that Dominic Cooper has made.
Fixed costs for probably 99% of the PI work that I do will never cover the actual work that is carried out on a file but the firm I'm at chooses to work in PI and service local clients. They would much rather operate with a nil success fee and in effect limit the fees to those recoverable from the insurer, rather than impose a success fee and possibly lose that local client to a sausage factory somewhere else.
Doing a good job, perhaps not screwing each and every last penny out of the client, but enabling the firm to keep that client for future work is equally important.
