So, he is "extremely embarrassed and deeply regrets his attendance and any association with the dinner".

Unless he was involved in the unfortunate and wholly unacceptable incidents that are alleged to have taken place, which undoubtedly he was not, then I'm afraid I regard these comments as absolute garbage, and in themselves more of an embarrassment to him than the mere fact that he might have attended.

It is most unfortunate that the antics of the few inevitably tarnish the vast majority, whose behaviour I have no doubt was impeccable.
