My previous firm also had (and still has) a partner who repeatedly propositioned young, female staff (always trainees, paralegals and secretaries, never anyone post-qualification) and who was reported repeatedly to HR. Funnily enough, all of those juniors have left but the partner is still in place. I'm always wryly amused to see that firm bruiting its qualifications as a diverse, supportive workplace ("Stonewall rankings" indeed!).

This sort of thing is (in my view) far more damaging to the reputation of the profession than the liberalisation of the practicing regime. At least a freelance solicitor doesn't have the luxury of bullying and harassing his juniors and trusting to the other partners to sweep it under the carpet...
