Unsurprising. The LAA seem more interested in chipping away at legal aid bills in the name of saving costs at the detriment of the remaining few legal aid providers, rather than promoting access to justice (which is supposed to be their founding principle might I add). Is it any wonder solicitors are leaving the legal aid profession in their droves and subsequently access to justice has collapsed? LAA's despotic bureaucracy needs to be wiped out and make justice the priority, not costs savings.
