My understanding is that the Jewish and Muslim groups are not asking to 'skip the queue' - they want anyone who asks for a speedy burial to be dealt with first, since they are confident that most people do not want burial on the day of death and won't mind their relative's body being released after a short gap of time. This seems fair enough to me.
