I would anticipate a cap to likely be similar to the EL/PL fixed costs matrix or perhaps very similar to the new fixed costs that will shortly apply to Noise Induced Hearing Loss. Either of which can reduce previous costs entitlement by considerably more than half There is a determined drive to dumb down legal services and costs. An argument for a cap would look more creditable if it also capped experts fees, counsel and Court issue fees which combined can very often be the most expensive aspects of a claim.
There is a larger and more dangerous agenda in play. The government and their big business paymasters want to reduce to as far as possible the right of the individual to seek redress. If you cap the recovery of legal fees eventually you will extinguish the provision of those services. A society becoming increasingly oligarchic in leadership and Orwellian in approaching the right to redress.
