You just wait till Brexit sets the cat among the pigeons. As it stands widely differing regimes could develop either side of the Severn in areas like environmental regulation which are highly devolved.

Unless Westminster can claw back powers a good deal of the European legal glue which holds the country together will come apart.

But that is a tall order, between them Tony Blair and David Cameron by making excessive promises to the devolved administrations have made a real dog's breakfast of the "United" Kingdom. It does make me wonder about the standard of teaching of law and politics at Oxford.

This is a story which will run and run over the next 6 months.
