It's obviously a pointless comparison to lump in qualified solicitors with paralegals secretaries/PAs and support staff (from head of HR to the office junior) but ignore partners to try to find 'the gender pay gap' in a law firm. That's what happens when government tries to mandate this sort of stuff - it becomes a joke.

You should compare solicitors in bands by PQE (ignoring any years out of practice and discounting for part-time years accrordingly) but including the partners - then you would start to see what the real 'gender pay gap' (the difference in equal pay for equally experienced lawyers) might be in the profession or in certain firms.
