Fixed costs do not take into account whether someone left school at 16, is a recent graduate in history or mathematics, is a trainee solicitor or has 25 years PQE.

The costs are paid based upon the work done. If the work required to be paid that amount is minimal, then so be it - that is how it was decided when fixed costs were brought in. If it can be done by a school leaver (and I resent the innuendo that this implies a lower level of cognitive ability) then why should it not be done so?

As you're very capably demonstrating, a trained chimp could do your job and make a low-ball stage 2 offer. Should you now be made redundant because a human doesn't need to do it and might cost more?
