All coop consultants give best advice also and if the client does not require the level of service they offer then they tell them. My friends mother passed away recently and had coop come and see them, they gave an excellent service and even advised my friend that they didn't require a full service and put them on the right track to do it themselves and save on any legal costs. They also saw a solicitor who said they should never do it alone and should instruct them to do it @ over £200 per hour plus Vat. They estimated it to be around 10-15 hours work. They didn't even attempt to give them the alternatives.

So no the are not a purely sales outfit, they offer guidance and a service, no different to solicitors, they gave them over 2 hours of their time and it didn't cost them a penny, a solicitor gave them 30 minutes for a charge of course, and said it would be taken off the bill if instructed.

Of course many of the readers and those making comments are probably solicitors, who do not like the fact that abs companies exist and do not like competing, which is why the majority of solicitors refuse to offer fixed fees and always an hourly rate or % of the estate, clients have no idea who actually does the work or how long it really takes. At least the coop offered my friend a fixed cost and backed it up with not being overcharged with it price promise. That is why solicitors probably won't give a fixed cost because they know you can't price match an estimate.

So keep knocking the coop they will continue to grow and become much larger.

Sorry if I have upset some people with this but when you see it happen to friends close to home and lots of stories around the web over solicitors charges over probate etc, I guess it is easy for them to knock the competition in the hope they can discredit them.
