Well done to DDJ Reed.

I don't think it is only courts which need to think about communicating clearly.

Some years ago when I still undertook care cases, I had to repeatedly turn the Social Worker's draft agreements with the parents into clear, plain English, to ensure that my client could understand them.

It seemed so basic a thing, to make sure that they were clearly communicating what they expected of him, but it didn't improve. Fortunately they were willing to accept my re-drafted versions, but didn't make any attempt to change their style.

Guardians, in my experience, seemed to be much better at it (maybe due to experience in explaining things to children? )
