To innovate or not to innovate that is the question.

The SRA continues with its proposals, to be disruptive to the daily lives of solicitors.

I question if there is in fact any real desire within the profession for "innovative" new ways of practising.

Innovation taking place in a safe space suggests to me instead a lack of confidence as to the future direction of regulation of solicitors on the part of the SRA or perhaps a lack of things to do?

Why would the profession want to embrace regulatory innovation, if it merely represents a further milestone on the road to the ultimate removal by the SRA of what survives of our professionalism?

The relationship between the regulated and their regulator remains a broken one.
