Derek Louw - With all due respect, your comments are ridiculous. Fixed costs do not discourage genuine claimants. Fixed costs have absolutely no impact whatsoever on claimants, they only affect the solicitor!

If we are all honest about it, the bottom line for the claimant is that they lose 25% of their damages. They are not interested in what the solicitor gets.

I thought the whole idea was to remove the claimant's that are not genuine. So, not necessarily just the people that blatantly lie about being sick but also those people that do get a bit of holiday tummy, that are encouraged by CMC's to make a claim for some easy money.

Surprise, surprise people. Remove CMC's out of the equation and the problem goes away!
