The SRA is also to blame - the balance between client protection and respect for lawyers is too focussed against lawyers now. Whilst it is critical to protect clients from bad lawyers it is also time to reinstate respect for our profession - I deal with many US attorneys - could not be more different. They don’t accept abuse or pushing around from clients - serious issue in U.K. I am pleased I did not push my son into this profession - he is far too special! Client demands are insane here! And the they don’t even want to pay!
