I haven’t mentioned defendant panel firms once so I’m not sure why you jumped to the conclusion that this is what I meant.

Historically insurance companies used to take claimant details via either an accident being reported or a claim on legal expenses cover. They then used to sell the claims to their panel solicitors i.e. they were acting as a CMC. And this despite saying how bad referral fees were - double standards until they thought that costs reductions would outweigh losses from the lack of referral fees.

(Hence the comment referring to being in front of the ambulance.)

Referral fees were banned yet the same panel firms still get the claimant referrals. Odd that.
