Divisive and totally unhelpful rhetoric from Lady Hale here.

No woman should be held back in her career merely because she is a woman. Any such discrimination is unacceptable. We all agree on this.

However, in my experience, many women freely choose not to go for the top, not because of discrimination, but because they value other things in life: for example, family time and a healthy work/life balance.

If that is their free choice, then that is fine, and it is not for Lady Hale to demand that they choose differently.
