On a slightly tangential note, I understand the need to be cautious what with money laundering and all that jazz nowadays, but what's wrong per se with providing a 'banking service' as the SRA puts it, for long-term, established clients? That shouldn't be incompatible with a solicitor's professional conduct rules in and of itself, in my opinion.
