Why not let the SRA go the whole hog? Do away with the SDT and let the SRA decide, in house, if an allegation of professional misconduct is proved or not. And whilst we're at it, let's remove the right of appeal against SRA decisions. We all know that the SRA is the most competent, trustworthy and objective regulatory body in the world. Thus in the interest of streamlined justice, we can leave everything in its safe pair of hands (so forget about JRs). Oh, and whilst we're at it, let's increase its solicitor funded budget substantially so that it can do all of this for us without having to worry about cost efficiency.
