So what? A company of that size about to go underwater arguably needed a great deal of top level legal advice while it was happening, which it's only right the firms involved got paid for.

Where's the fire? Or is it just that massive law firms should work for stricken multinational companies pro bono because of the crazy PR values that exist these days?
