@Anonymous at 13:11 - yes, the SRA now *only* uses Capsticks.

Since Capsticks have a complete monopoly, there is absolutely no incentive on them to do good quality work; the only incentive on them is to do *cheap* work and retain as much money as they can.

A couple of years ago, the SRA would never have dreamed of instructing a junior (in-house) counsel in a case where the solicitor respondent was represented by a very experienced QC.

But using an in-house counsel means that Capsticks keeps more money for themselves....
