Removing the gender disparity is vital, but there are other biases to bear in mind too and it's more nuanced than that. Ironically the statement above reinforces the stereotypical male-female traits. Those networking opportunities don't favour men, they favour men (probably, though not exclusively) who like golf, rugby and drinking.
