I have had cases where the Defendant witness insist that the claimant deliberately braked and set up the accident when they negligently collided with the vehicle from the back. one even produced so called independent witnesses who were apparently bogus.

Defendant put the claimants through a lot of stress and anxiety throughout the case before they decide to settle or simply lose at court.
There should be a mechanism where if this happens , Claimants should be awarded indemnity costs just like in fundamentally Dishonesty cases.
