Flawed logic, lacking in factual accuracy and embellished with poor grammar: are you a claims handler for an insurer by any chance?

1. Other countries have higher levels of claims and higher payouts, Ireland being a strong comparator. When they introduced their tariff system and a process intended to have fewer lawyers involved in claims the numbers of claims increased significantly (against a backdrop of fewer miles driven).

2. The extent of the injury is unrelated to the number of claims. If all claims for injuries with a level of general damages below £50k were determined not to merit general damages then this would not mean that those injuries had not occurred.

3. A low value claim for PI can still have complex aspects in relation to liability and other aspects which could require the involvement of a lawyer, including but not limited to, loss of earnings, credit hire and so on.

While I do not consider that CMC's "add value" in terms of the legal process they do do things that lawyers do not and (perhaps regrettably) there is no turning the clock back to the mythic golden age when CMCs did not exist.
