Judging from the foregoing comments, it seems that some non-partner lawyers think that solicitors go through a 'Jekyll & Hyde' transformation when they become partners. If these partners have the character defects outlined here, in all probability they had them as associates, assistant solicitors, trainee solicitors - i.e. the group that seems to be voicing the complaints - and maybe even earlier than that. If so, the problem is one of society generally, from earliest years and forever thereafter.
