Re: " standard for people in the same offices to be in a relationship and even get married. I can think of 5 or 6 partner/secretary marriages off the top of my head and many, many more amongst solicitor colleagues. That just doesn't seem to happen anymore."

Being old is a bit like being invisible. I was making a coffee this morning and overheard 2 young women in the kitchen talking about a guy in the office one of them liked. They thought he liked her as well but were speculating (moaning about) why he wasn't doing anything about it.

I didn't blame the lad in the least. Trying to chat someone up usually means you often get knocked back. That makes them 'unwanted sexual advances', which makes you a harasser and, shortly afterwards, makes you unemployed and unemployable.
