The whole concept of "unexplained wealth orders" is extremely disturbing. It offends the right to enjoyment of private property, and turns the burden of proof on its head: you have to prove that what you have is legitimate, otherwise the government seizes it, even though no crime has been proved to have been committed.

Also, the potential for abuse by the government is massive - there is such obvious scope to use it to persecute anyone who has made him/herself unpopular with the government or powerful individuals within it. I do not trust any group of politicians not to misuse this power. Do you?
